On November 25, 2025, the research team led by Prof. Luo Xiaobing and Prof. Hu Run, ICARE Chinese supervisors from the School of Energy and Power Engineering, published a research paper entitled Remote spatiotemporal control of local states in thermal lattice in Materials Today Physics, a leading journal in the field of physics with an impact factor of 9.7.

Huazhong University of Science and Technology is listed as the first completing institution. Doctoral candidate Liu Quan is the first author of the paper. Prof. Hu Run and Prof. Wonjoon Choi from Korea University serve as co-corresponding authors. Prof. Luo Xiaobing, Prof. Sun-Kyung Kim from Kyung Hee University, and Prof. Philippe Ben-Abdallah from the French National Centre for Scientific Research are included as co-authors.

The research team led by Prof. Luo Xiaobing and Prof. Hu Run has long been committed to research in heat and mass transfer, thermal metamaterials and functional devices, and thermal management of optoelectronic devices. In recent years, the team has published a series of high-impact papers in internationally renowned journals, including Nature Communications, Science Advances, Physical Review X, Light: Science & Applications, Advanced Materials, Advanced Energy Materials, Materials Today, Materials Today Physics, ACS Nano, and National Science Review.

This research was supported by the National Key R&D Program of China (Grant Nos. 2022YFA1203104, 2024YFB4104701) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Grant Nos. 52422603, 52511540065, 52521008, 52161160332).
