On the afternoon of December 1st, President Kersin Felser and a delegation from Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM, Düren Campus), Germany, visited ICARE. Dr. Zou Mingqing, Vice Dean of ICARE, Prof. Hu Song, Director of the Research Office, and Ms. Liu Yang, Director of the Academic Affairs Office, welcomed the guests in Conference Room N309. Both sides introduced their institutional profiles and program strengths and held in-depth discussions on university–enterprise cooperation, joint scientific research, and faculty–student exchanges.

Founded in 2000 in Bielefeld, North Rhine-Westphalia, Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM University of Applied Sciences for SMEs) is a non-profit private university offering bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree programs. It was jointly established by the Crafts Association of the Bielefeld Region and the West German Crafts Confederation, funded by the Stiftung Bildung und Handwerk Paderborn (SBH, Paderborn Foundation for Education and Crafts), which also serves as its governing board.

With its headquarters in Bielefeld, FHM currently has nine campuses across Germany: Bamberg, Berlin, Bielefeld, Düren, Hannover, Cologne, Frechen, Rostock, and Waldshut-Tiengen. It is among the first German universities recognized and accredited by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, listed as No. 51 in the directory of German universities recognized by the Chinese Ministry of Education.

Its bachelor’s and master’s degree programs hold federal accreditation from the Wissenschaftsrat der Bundesrepublik Deutschland (German Council of Science and Humanities). The university has also earned certification from the FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation)—a globally recognized agency within the German, Swiss, and Austrian business school systems—as well as accreditation from the German Vocational Education Quality Assurance System (CERTOUA).
