Hosted by the Chinese Society of Academic Degrees and Graduate Education, the final round of the 4th China Postgraduate “Dual Carbon” Innovation and Creativity Competition was held at Shenyang University of Chemical Technology from November 7 to 9, 2025. A total of 4,999 works from 377 universities participated, involving 26,000 participants. After preliminary selection and on-site roadshows in the final stage, 72 first prizes, 226 second prizes, and 421 third prizes were awarded. Guided by the ICARE Chinese supervisors—Professors Song Haisheng, Zhang Liqi, and Associate Professor Li Xiaoshan—our students won 1 first prize and 1 second prize.
First Prize
Under the guidance of Professor Song Haisheng, an ICARE Chinese supervisor and member of the Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics, ICARE student Guo Qilin completed the project titled “Green Path Photovoltaics: Scalable and Green Fabrication of All-Perovskite Tandem Solar Cells,” which won a first prize in the competition.
The team developed an all-perovskite tandem solar cell using a green fabrication process, achieving high photoelectric conversion efficiency, low cost, and strong environmental performance. This innovative high-efficiency photovoltaic research aligns closely with the goals of the “Dual Carbon” strategy and the global demand for clean and low-carbon energy transitions.

Second Prize
Guided by Professor Zhang Liqi and Associate Professor Li Xiaoshan, ICARE Chinese supervisors from the School of Energy and Power Engineering, ICARE student Dong Xiaoteng completed the project “Crystal-Engineered NiFeO₄: Multi-Pathway Efficient CO₂ Conversion for Carbon Neutrality,” which won a second prize.
For the first time, the team applied a metal oxide regulation method to modify traditional catalysts, achieving directional product selectivity while maintaining high conversion efficiency. They also introduced adsorbents to establish an integrated CO₂ utilization pathway with zero intermediate costs, making the solution highly aligned with the “Dual Carbon” goals and industrial application needs.
