Recently, the team led by Professor Wang Deli — an ICARE Chinese mentor and faculty member of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering — published a series of research results on non-precious-metal electrocatalysts in the journal Angewandte Chemie International Edition. The papers are titled:

• “Hydrogen Bridge-Mediated Efficient      Electrooxidation of 5-Hydroxymethylfurfural on Ni(OH)₂-PO₄³⁻/Ni₃(PO₄)₂      Heterojunctions”

• “Corrosion-Driven Ni₃S₄ Gradient in NiFe-LDH      Enables Durable Industrial-Scale Water Electrolysis”

Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) is the corresponding institution for this work, and Professor Wang Deli is the corresponding author. The research was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the International Talent Introduction Base Project for New Energy Chemistry and Devices, and the Special Fund for Basic Scientific Research Operations of Central Universities.
