ICARE Research Achieves Breakthrough in Aqueous Zinc-Ion Battery Energy Storage

On September 8, 2025, Advanced Functional Materials (Impact Factor 19.0), a leading journal in energy and environmental materials, published online a paper titled “Dual Regulation of Bulk Heterostructure and Engineered Cathode-Electrolyte Interphase in Vanadium Cathodes for Durable Zinc Storage”. The study was led by Associate Professor Wen Chang, a Chinese supervisor at ICARE and faculty member of the Department of New Energy Science and Engineering, School of Energy and Power Engineering.

 

 

This research presents significant progress in aqueous zinc-ion battery energy storage, offering innovative strategies to enhance both durability and performance.

The work was supported by the National Key Research and Development Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Analytical and Testing Center of Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
