To strengthen students’ job market competitiveness and refine their interview skills, ICARE hosted the 6th Job-Hunting Training Camp – Interview Training on the afternoon of July 2, 2025. The keynote speaker was Mr. Li Zhitian, Assistant to the Director of the ICARE Research Center.

Mr. Li provided a comprehensive overview of mainstream interview formats, with a particular focus on individual interviews, group interviews, and Leaderless Group Discussions (LGD). He explained five common LGD question types—dilemma, resource competition, ranking, operational, and open-ended—and highlighted what employers look for: problem-solving ability, teamwork, and logical communication.

To help students visualize how different behaviors affect job fit, Mr. Li used video examples to analyze role-played personalities and their suitability for specific roles. His interactive approach sparked enthusiastic participation from the audience.
Following the theoretical session, students participated in a hands-on simulation. Divided into two groups, they engaged in 15-minute LGDs on the themes: organizing a university event and designing a poverty relief subsidy program. Mr. Li observed and recorded their performance.
Afterward, each group engaged in a three-fold feedback process: instructor comments, peer review, and self-reflection. Mr. Li emphasized, “Leaderless discussions aren’t about winning or losing—they’re about showing leadership, execution, and empathy through collaboration.”

Many students said the training reshaped their understanding of interviews. Long Hai, a 2023 ICARE student, shared: “I used to fear LGDs. But Mr. Li’s guidance helped me learn to manage rhythm, structure my arguments, and collaborate with others to solve problems.”
This training camp exemplifies ICARE’s commitment to integrating theory with practice and lectures with real-world exercises. Through such initiatives, ICARE continues to prepare students for the competitive job market while promoting innovation in career education.
